TIA Hosts Toy Pavilion at the CHA 2010 Summer Convention & Trade Show

TIA is hosting a pavilion at the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Summer Convention & Trade Show, which opened today at the Donald E. Stephens Convention and Conference Center in Rosemont, IL, and will run until July 29th.

This year, the pavilion is providing a variety of products from manufacturers and distributers from TIA’s premiere trade events — the American International Toy Fair and Fall Toy Preview — after CHA buyers previously indicated a strong interest in seeing more toys, games and puzzles at the show.

“Our partnership with CHA resulted in a TIA pavilion that is providing CHA buyers with the opportunity to expand their supplier base,” said Leigh Carleu, Account Executive, Member Services and Business Development. “TIA pavilion exhibitors are pleased with the opening day response. They look forward to working with CHA buyers and prospects who expressed interest in carrying more toys, games, puzzles, models, and non-traditional merchandise.”

The event is an opportunity for toy buyers and sellers to interact in the critical weeks and months leading up to back-to-school and holiday shopping. Buyer surveys have shown that buyers place orders well into the third quarter.

“Toy manufacturers will benefit from the additional third quarter face-to-face sales opportunities,” said Carter Keithley, TIA president. “We are pleased to present our Toy Fair and Fall Toy Preview customers with a summertime trade event that will open additional markets for their products.”

In addition to the buyer opportunities presented on the trade show floor, CHA is offering a conference program that provides attendees the opportunity to learn new skills, gain knowledge on business trends, and network with other members through hands-on workshops, business-focused seminars, demo-nars (sessions the combine the practical application of workshops with the business-oriented focus of a seminar), and special events.

Information on registration can be found on the CHA website. This is a wholesale market event that is closed to the public.
