Bulletins (TIA Members Only)

- Legislative
Bulletins follow regulatory and legal issues – especially
as they pertain to the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety
Improvement Act (CPSIA) – both on Capital Hill as well as in
individual state legislatures.
- Safety
Bulletins monitor issues and regulatory activity related to toy
safety, testing, quality assurance and other technical issues.
Summary of CPSIA

This summary is provided as an overview of the legislation for the
convenience of visitors to the TIA website, and should not be considered
an authoritative account or interpretation of the Act. Significant
work is left to be done by the CPSC to propose and adopt implementing
regulations, and there is substantial room for interpretation of various
provisions of the Act. Visitors to the TIA website should read this
Summary with caution and consult with their legal counsel and quality
assurance counsel regarding the application of the provisions of the Act
to their products and operations. Read
summary.
Legal Counsel Contact List

Given the complexity of the CPSIA legislation, and the variation in
products and companies, TIA recommends that toy companies consider
retaining legal counsel to help in compliance with the legislation.
For TIA member convenience, we have assembled a members-only list of lawyers
with experience in consumer product safety issues and the
CPSIA.
