Fraudulent Check Warning

Toy Industry Association, Inc. (TIA) has become aware that individuals are attempting to make fraudulent purchases using counterfeited checks imprinted with TIA’s name and sent via UPS.  The fraudulent checks will not clear TIA’s bank account. Although the checks contain representations of TIA’s brand, the purchase of products or services by the Toy Industry Association will be made only by authorized individuals who properly identify themselves as acting on behalf of TIA.  The appropriate bank and law enforcement authorities have been notified of these incidents and are attempting to trace the perpetrators.  Individuals who unexpectedly receive a check imprinted with the TIA name and/or logo and who have not legitimately conducted business with the Association are advised not to deposit the check and to notify the local authorities.
