When I make a
financial contribution to TIF, where is my money going towards?
Monetary donations made to the Foundation go to help one of our
programs such as public education initiatives, The Toy Bank™, or
grantmaking. Your contribution may help distribute Let’s
Play guides to schools, or it could be used to facilitate the shipment
of toys to deserving children around the world. Your support also
allows TIF to issue grants to organizations that help make play possible
and whose missions are in line with that of the Foundation.
Is there a
minimum/maximum to donate?
There is no donation too big or too small!
How can I donate
toys to The Toy Bank?
The Toy Industry Foundation launched The Toy Bank in 2003 to give
newly-manufactured toys to children in need. Our corporate partner,
Gifts in Kind International, is a global leader in product philanthropy
and distributes all donations to The Toy Bank throughout its network of
over 150,000 community non-profits and charity organizations.
The Toy Bank accepts donations at any time of the year; whenever you
have available inventory to donate, simply fill out the Product Donation Agreement Form and fax it to
the Toy Bank Team at 212-675-1328. In addition to enriching the lives of
children around the world, your donation may also qualify for a tax
deduction of up to twice the cost of the products. For more information,
please click
here.
Can I designate
where my donations (toys) go?
If you are able to ship your donation, you may choose to designate
your toys toward a specific TIF national partnership by checking off the
appropriate box at the top of the Product Donation Agreement Form. Simply indicate Play
HealsTM (partnership with Ronald McDonald
House Charities®), Play
Comforts (partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Military Services), or My Stuff
Bags (partnership serving foster children). If you need a
pick up arranged for your donation, just check the box to make a general
donation to The Toy Bank and a representative will contact you to
coordinate the shipping or pickup of your gift. At this time, you should
feel free to request that your toys be distributed to a certain area or
to a particular cause. While we cannot guarantee that all requests will
be met, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
View the growing list of charities that have benefitted
from The Toy Bank. No matter how you give, your toys will mean the world
to the children who will receive them.
What is your
Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Tax Identification Number
(TIN)?
The Toy Industry Foundation EIN or TIN is 13-6161457.
How are
charities selected to receive toys?
In order to receive toys from The Toy Bank, an organization must be a
501(c)(3), or an organization with similar status in the country in
which it is located, serving children in need. The organization
must also be registered with our partner organization, Gifts in Kind
International, Inc. Once your organization is in our network, we
will then alert you as toys in your area are available. To register to
receive toys from The Toy Bank, visit the recipient charity page on The
Toy Bank’s official website, www.thetoybank.org.
How can I
receive toys through The Toy Bank?
Donations to The Toy Bank are distributed to 501(c)(3) organizations
that have registered with Gifts in Kind. For more information and to
register, please visit the Gifts in
Kind website. If your organization has already registered with Gifts
in Kind, click here and follow the instructions to
request toys from The Toy Bank.
Ronald McDonald House Charities programs need not follow this
process. Instead, please visit the Play
HealsTM section of our site to
register and request toys. My Stuff Bags recipient agencies, and Boys
& Girls Clubs on military bases should also not follow this
process. Instead, please email thetoybank@toyindustryfoundation.org
for instructions for requesting toys. We look forward to working with
you to serve children in need.

I’m a

Can I volunteer
at TIF?
TIF is always looking for people who are interested in helping us
accomplish our mission of bringing joy, comfort and learning to children
in need. The Foundation is busy year round with a number of projects. If
you are interested in volunteering, please complete our volunteer form. A representative from the
Foundation will contact you as soon as we have an opportunity
available.
Where does TIF
get its funding?
The Toy Industry Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the North
American toy industry. We are directly affiliated with the Toy Industry
Association, the not-for-profit trade association for producers and
importers of toys and youth entertainment products sold in North
America. As a result, TIF receives partial funding from
TIA. The majority of our funding, however, comes from generous
donations from individuals and corporate contributions.
