08/31/2010 | Toy Industry Foundation Names Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) as New Toy Bank Partner The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) announced today that it will strengthen its partnership with Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) by assigning the New York City-based not-for-profit organization responsibility for logistics and related administrative support of the TIF’s signature program, The Toy Bank. K.I.D.S. will assume its new role effective September 1, 2010.

08/31/2010 | CPSC Issues Final Interpretive Rule on the Term “Children’s Product” The CPSC has published a proposed revision to its Final Interpretive Rule defining “Children’s Product” under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). The Rule, along with comments received in response to this summer’s public comment period, were published August 25th and will be considered for final approval by the CPSC Commissioners on September 9, 2010.

08/31/2010 | Fall Toy Preview to Kick Off Long-Lead Toy Buying Season for Holiday 2011 More than 600 buyers representing 250 unique long lead and mass market retail outlets are preparing to converge in Dallas, Texas this October to place their orders for 2011 holiday toys at the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) Fall Toy Preview. The annual by-appointment-only event provides toy buyers from the mass retail sector a central marketplace in which to meet one-on-one with their vendors nearly a year in advance of in-store delivery.
