Global Toy Industry Resources Available Online

June 24, 2013 | The International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) has updated its website to include information about global toy industry issues, international safety standards, and a worldwide calendar of toy industry events. The web updates reflect discussion items presented at the 39th ICTI Annual General Meeting held earlier this month in Washington, DC.

The full State of the Industry Report for the U.S., submitted by the Toy Industry Association (TIA), may also be viewed online; all other individual country reports may be viewed in full by ICTI Members only.
  • State of the Industry Report
This summary report provides a “look back” at the key toy industry issues of 2012 identified by the countries represented at the ICTI meeting. Issues of the past year included changes or updates to toy safety standards and regulations; the changing retail landscape; the global economic downturn; competition from smartphones and tablets; and more. The discussion of these topics at the meeting served as a springboard to address the future of the toy industry – in 2013 and beyond.

  • International Standards
A directory of international toy standards and associated contact details are now available. Changes have been made to International Standards Organization (ISO) toy safety standards, as well as standards in Australia, China, the European Union, and Mexico.

  • Calendar of Global Toy Industry Events
The updated calendar includes information about trade shows and toy industry events around the world, including the upcoming Taipei Domestic Toys & Children Articles Show, the Taichung Domestic Toys & Children Articles Show, and the Kids Fun Expo (all in July).

  • ICTI Member Contact Information
Updated contact information for each ICTI Member is now available.
