PlayCon ’13 to Feature New Market Research and Discussions on “Power of Play”
March 12, 2013 | PlayCon, TIA's International Conference of Play Professionals will unveil exciting new market research that will help toy industry stakeholders develop successful marketing strategies, guide new business development, understand consumer behavior, enhance sales performance, and more. The event will take place from May 6-8, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona; registration is now open.
PlayCon ’13 will feature The NPD Group’s latest findings on domestic and international toy industry sales, as well as two proprietary research studies commissioned by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) and conducted by outside parties: the results of TIA’s Financial and Operating Benchmark Study, which will help business owners optimize their financial and operating budgets, and a report from The Family Room entitled “Toy & Game Decision Making in the U.S.,” which will provide conference-goers with a fresh perspective on the new realities of family decision-making in the toy and game arena.
“This year’s conference will build on the success of past years, with a continuing focus on providing attendees with practical, creative and stimulating ideas that will help their businesses grow,” said Marian Bossard, TIA vice president of meetings and events. “For example, The Family Room’s presentation will equip attendees with the information they need to manufacture, market and merchandise playthings that appeal to the ‘true’ purchasing decision-makers in the average American household.”
The comprehensive program will cover a range of topics – including international expansion, licensing, retail strategies, and consumer insights. An impressive roster of toy industry thought-leaders will present case studies, tools, tips and more throughout three days of keynote sessions, panel presentations, and informal discussions.
In addition, social activities and networking meals will give attendees a chance to mingle with old friends and rub elbows with important new contacts in a casual atmosphere designed to promote participation and engagement.
The registration fee provides participants with access to all of PlayCon’s sessions; the event’s opening night dinner on Monday, May 6; breakfast, lunch and a cocktail reception on Tuesday, May 7; and breakfast on Wednesday, May 8. Registration is now open; discounted hotel rates are available through April 10, 2013.
