REMINDER: ICTI CARE Webinar on April 24
April 22, 2013 |
The Toy Industry Association (TIA) is reminding industry stakeholders of a free webinar to be held this Wednesday, April 24 to provide participants with an update on recent and upcoming ICTI CARE Process activities aimed at eliminating substandard health, safety, and labor practices in toy factories around the world.
Taking place from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. (Eastern), “Purchasing Practices and their Impact on Toy & Children’s Juvenile Product Factories: Balancing Marketplace Realities and Social Compliance Standards” is open to all TIA members and non-member toy companies and specifically recommended for staffs that share responsibility for social compliance policies (e.g., HR, legal, procurement or sourcing teams, third-party auditors, etc.).
During an interactive discussion led by Christian Ewert, President and CEO of the ICTI CARE Foundation and Mark Jones, Chief Marketing and Product Officer at Elevate, webinar attendees will learn about emerging trends in purchasing practices (e.g., retailers placing orders closer to peak seasons causing toy companies to struggle to meet shorter delivery times) which are having a significant impact on factory worker conditions (including longer shifts, excessive required overtime, health and safety shortcuts, and more.)
More information about the webinar can be found in the Knowledge Network section
of the TIA website; free registration
can be completed online.
Questions from members and industry stakeholders may be submitted in advance; to the extent possible, answers will be folded into the presentation. As with other TIA webinars, the session will be recorded and available post-event for those who are unable to participate live. Questions or requests for additional information may be directed to TIA’s Jackie Retzer (646.454.5587).
