Save the Date: TIA and NPD Will Hold Webinar on Retail Sales Analysis

September 24, 2013 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA), in conjunction with The NPD Group, invites toy industry stakeholders to participate in a webinar on Thursday, October 24th entitled “Using Retail Sales Data Effectively.” The webinar will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (Eastern). It is open to all industry stakeholders and specifically recommended for toy company marketers wishing to understand the basics of retail sales analysis, as well as those seeking to learn of more sophisticated analytics that are gaining ground.

Presented by Russ Crupnick, NDP’s senior vice president of industry analysis, and moderated by Anne McConnell, TIA’s director of market research & data strategy, the webinar will firstly discuss traditional uses for retail tracing data.  These core concepts include understanding market size and growth trends, pricing and market share applications, and competitive analysis.

Russ Crupnick and The NPD Group will be hosting another webinar in December that will be officially announced during “Using Retail Sales Data Effectively.”

More sophisticated practices that marketers and retailers are now employing will also be discussed during the webinar.  These practices, which are experiencing growth as a result of changes in technology and shopping habits, include category management, advanced analytics and other cutting-edge tools that improve decision making in terms of assortment, pricing and other areas of merchandising.

Questions from members and industry stakeholders may be submitted in advance; to the extent possible, answers to these questions will be discussed during the presentation.

The webinar will be free for TIA members and $49 for non-members. Advance registration can be completed online. As with other TIA webinars, the session will be recorded and available post-event for those who are unable to participate live.
