Save the Date: TIA’s 6th Annual DC Fly-In to be held September 17-18
April 30, 2013 | Representatives from toy companies small and large are once again invited to our nation’s capital for the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) 6th Annual Washington, DC Fly-In on September 17-18, 2013, to discuss the toy industry’s contributions to the U.S. economy as well as its legislative needs with members of Congress and other key decision makers.
The DC Fly-In offers member companies a unique opportunity to engage face-to-face with federal lawmakers and regulators to enhance awareness of issues impacting workers, jobs, market expansion and other facets of the toy industry. During small group meetings with senators, representatives and their staffs, Fly-In participants will address pending hot-button policy decisions and the actual impact that those decisions would have on stakeholders both in the room and industry-wide.
“At a time when Congress is considering a host of legislative proposals with potentially great significance for the toy industry, it is all the more important for TIA members to join the conversation and have their voices heard,” Ed Desmond, TIA executive vice president of external affairs. “The DC Fly-In is a valuable venue through which companies can strengthen relationships on Capitol Hill and bolster the dialogue between lawmakers and the toy industry.”
TIA staff will schedule and plan all meetings and event logistics; a draft agenda, as well as announcements of special guest attendees and speakers, will be available in the coming weeks.
