TIA Annual Business Meeting to be Held at Toy Fair

January 4, 2013 | In a letter to members issued this week, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) announced that its Annual Business Meeting will convene at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in Room 1E19 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Held in conjunction with the American International Toy Fair, the one-hour meeting will include reports of the Chairman, President and Secretary/Treasurer; the election of new Board members; and other such matters as may regularly be brought before the membership.

A vote to fill three open seats on the Association’s Board of Directors will be taken during the meeting. The following candidates have been nominated for consideration and election for a two-year term expiring at the annual meeting in 2015:

    LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc.
  • Richard Barry
    Executive Vice President,
    Chief Merchandising Officer
    Toys“R”Us, Inc.
  • Manuel Torres
    Senior Vice President,
    Global Toys and Consumer Electronics
    Nickelodeon Consumer Products

Additional nominations for full-term Directors may be made in writing, signed by not less than 10% of the membership of the Association, and submitted to the President at least 30 days before the Annual Meeting (January 14, 2013).

TIA members that are unable to attend or send a company representative to the annual meeting are encouraged to return the proxy card mailed to the designated member contact in early January 2013.

The meeting is open to all stakeholders of the toy industry – both members and non-members. Bagels and coffee will be available at 7:30 a.m.
