TIA Annual Strategy Meeting to Discuss Priority Issues for the Toy Industry in 2014

January 6, 2014 | Members of the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) advocacy committees will convene later this month at the Annual Strategy Meeting to prioritize key legislative and regulatory issues that will be addressed by TIA in the coming year.

Representatives of the Safety Standards and Technical Committee, the State Government Affairs Committee, the Federal Government Affairs Committee, the Environmental Sustainability Committee, and the Responsible Marketing to Children Committee will meet in Los Angeles, CA from January 21-22 to discuss TIA’s five priority policy areas, as outlined in TIA’s 2013-2015 Strategic Plan:
  • Chemical Regulation
  • Product Safety
  • Marketing to Children
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • International Trade
“The Strategy Meeting provides us with the opportunity to review our program for the year ahead and allows us to gather input and direction from our members regarding the policy issues at the local, state, federal, and international levels that are expected to impact their businesses,” said Ed Desmond, TIA executive vice president of external affairs.

Full TIA members who are not currently serving on one of the committees but wish to partake in these discussions are invited to send a message to advocacy@toyassociation.org for information on how to participate in portions of the meeting of most interest to their company.
