TIA Seeks “Inventor Stories” for Media and Promotional Opportunities during National Inventors Month
April 2, 2013 | To help celebrate National Inventors Month this May, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) is asking its members, Toy Fair exhibitors and PR reps for toy companies to submit interesting stories about the inventors of both new and classic toys and games. These “Inventor Stories” will be promoted throughout the month of May for use in broadcast TV segments and other media, as well as within the industry in articles and / or slideshows on the TIA website, ToyInfo.org, TIA’s Facebook page, and more.
“The vision, creativity and drive of inventors and designers bring toys and games from idea to fruition,” said Stacy Leistner, TIA vice president of strategic communications. “In honor of National Inventors Month, we will shine a spotlight on the creators of new and beloved classic toys and games that have entertained children for generations.”
Submissions should be approximately 100-200 words in length, and should briefly highlight the inventor’s background; the inspiration behind the development of the toy or game; the product’s unique characteristics; and an accompanying image of the product and / or product with the inventor.
Please email all submissions to TIA’s Jackie Retzer by Wednesday, April 10th. For reference, participants are encouraged to view the compilation of inventors and their products featured on ToyInfo.org last May.
Questions or requests for additional information may be directed to Stacy Leistner (646.520.4858).
There is no fee to participate in this promotional opportunity; however, TIA members will be give preference over non-members. All recommended products must comply with relevant toy safety laws and standards and be available at retail by the time the coverage is expected to air or be published.
