TIF Welcomes New Toy Bank Donors
October 29, 2013 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), the philanthropic arm of the North American toy industry, thanks 18 generous companies for their first-ever donations to The Toy Bank. Their inaugural contributions were made during the Time to Play Holiday Showcase in September and TIF’s annual toy collection at Fall Toy Preview in October, as well as through general donations to the Toy Bank this fall.
Donations made by these companies have been distributed to eight carefully vetted Toy Bank recipient charities in New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas, as well as to TIF’s national partner Boys & Girls Clubs of America Military Services for the year’s final Play Comforts toy giveaway honoring military families for their daily sacrifices.
TIF is actively seeking donations for its ongoing Holiday Toy Drive. New children’s toys are especially needed for the industry’s collective effort to support the TODAY Show Drive, as well as TIF’s upcoming Play Comforts toy giveaway for 1,000 military youth in North Carolina.
To become a Toy Bank donor, manufacturers, distributors and retailers should contact Foundation Coordinator Melissa Sorvillo (646.520.4878).
Over the past 10 years, The Toy Bank has delivered $85 million worth of toys to children who are sick, impoverished, rescued from abusive homes, living through natural disasters, enduring life on a military base, or otherwise in need.
