TIF Welcomes New Toy Bank Donors

June 10, 2013 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), the philanthropic arm of the North American toy industry, thanks 89 generous companies for making their first-ever donations to The Toy Bank during the first few months of 2013.

In addition to 81 new donors that participated in TIF’s annual toy collection at Toy Fair the following companies provided inaugural donations in March, April and May of this year:

CIS-Associates LLC
Cuddle Barn
Elite Kids
First Texas Products
Kinderfeets, LLC
Nickelodeon Consumer Products
Sassy, Inc.

These new friends of the Foundation joined more than 1,500 toy manufacturers, retailers, licensors, and distributors who have donated to The Toy Bank since the program was formed a decade ago.

The inaugural gifts have been distributed to carefully vetted children’s charities in The Toy Bank’s network, as well as to TIF’s national partners: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children, which provides one-on-one advocacy and guidance for children in foster care, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America Military Services, which provides youth development programs and activities to the children of military personnel.

To become a Toy Bank supporter, TIF invites manufacturers, distributors and retailers to complete the Toy Bank product donation form and send it to thetoybank@toyindustryfoundation.org. Retailers who would like to hold an in-store toy drive to benefit The Toy Bank, such as the one held by Elite Kids earlier this year, may offer point-of-purchase bins to their customers. To ensure that all donated items meet current federal safety standards, the toys must be purchased from within the store.

Questions about all Toy Bank donations may be directed to Foundation Coordinator Melissa Sorvillo (646.520.4878).
