Registration Now Open for ToyDesignCon '13
April 1, 2013 | Registration is now open for the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) ToyDesignCon 2013: Informing and Inspiring Toy and Game Designers which will be held at The Strong’s National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY from June 23-25, 2013.
This second annual event, held for designers, design teams, and creative professionals at member toy companies, will include a presentation delivered by a creative director from Cirque du Soleil who will challenge attendees to “unleash their creativity” and provide fresh perspectives on the interactions of art, play and the creative process. Three panels – “Transmedia Storytelling,” “Channeling the Artist Within” and “Creativity in the Game Aisle” – will be interspersed among other presentations featuring guest speakers, tours of The Strong, and social / networking events during the day-and-a-half conference that will inspire creative professionals to think outside the box.
Confirmed speakers include Gillian Ferrabee, Director of Creation, Cirque du Soleil; Reuben Klamer, creator, The Game of Life; Brett Klisch, Peru Meridian Studios; Michael McGinnis, Inventor of Perplexus; Judy Ellis, Chair, FIT Toy Design Department; and Jeff Gomez, Chief Executive Officer, Starlight Runner Entertainment. Also on the agenda will be panelists from Fashion Angels, Educational Insights, and LEGO as well as designers from other TIA member companies.
There is a low registration fee of $195 for TIA member company design teams. Hotel reservations may be made at the negotiated room rate of $129/night.
