“Toys Across America” Nears Goal of Toy Distributions in All 50 States

July 16, 2013 | In honor of The Toy Bank’s 10th anniversary, on August 1st the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) will distribute toys to children in need in all 50 states through its “Toys Across America” initiative. Toy donations continue to pour in, but more are needed by July 19th to bring the power of play to kids in every state across the country.

These nationwide deliveries of toys and games will commemorate TIF’s signature program and the more than 10 million deserving children it has served in the decade since its establishment,” said Foundation Manager Marisa Medina. “At select charity sites, TIF will also host celebratory events — complete with party activities, cake and toys — that will be broadcasted live from New York, NY, Braddock, PA and Dallas, TX.”

Generous toy companies who donate brand new product or help sponsor this initiative will bring smiles to the faces of millions of children who are impoverished, ill, homeless, or otherwise underserved.

To date, 25 companies have already participated, enabling toy distributions in 44 states. But product donations and sponsorships are still needed to bring toys and games to the children of Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Donations that will serve these remaining states are of highest priority, but contributions from anywhere in the country are still needed to reach as many children as possible through this special giveaway.

While toys are needed to ensure that children in all 50 states receive new playthings, monetary gifts are also critical to the program’s success. Corporate sponsorships are available for any company that would like to make a financial contribution, and individuals are invited to make a “supporter” level gift. Those who become corporate sponsors will have their company logo displayed on the TIF website and Facebook page, as well as on sponsorship posters and cakes at event sites. They will also be recognized in the official event press release, thanked during the event’s live online broadcast and via social media messaging, and will gain significant media exposure.
