A Little Snow Won’t Stop Toy Fair and TOTY: Shows On-Schedule Despite Weather Forecast
February 12, 2014 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA) assures toy industry stakeholders that the 14th Annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards and the 111th American International Toy Fair will proceed as planned this weekend despite weather predictions for the New York City-area.
The TOTY Awards will kick off Toy Fair week on Saturday night, February 15 and Toy Fair will open its doors as scheduled bright and early Sunday morning, February 16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“Toy Fair has opened its doors on time every year for 111 years … The threat of a little snow won’t stop us now,” said show organizers.
TOTY ticket-holders who are unable to make it to the awards ceremony due to weather-related travel cancellations may transfer their tickets to another guest(s) by contacting the TOTY reservationist in advance of the show. TOTY ticket refunds will be issued only to those who are unable to attend the ceremony due to weather conditions that prevent them from being in New York City on Saturday evening (proof required).
Toy Fair and TOTY attendees are invited to follow TIA on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter for regular updates about both shows.
