Networking at Toy Fair Continues After Hours

January 20, 2014 | Networking opportunities and special events at the American International Toy Fair abound even beyond official show hours. In addition to the many nightlife options that the New York City has to offer, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) will be hosting several post-show evening events.

“This year’s after-hours schedule features a variety of annual events that offer show attendees even more opportunities to meet and mingle with industry peers and make the most out of their Toy Fair experience,” said Marian Bossard, TIA vice president of meetings and events. 

The Toy Fair after-hours schedule includes:

  • Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards Ceremony
    Saturday, February 15
    6 – 11 pm
    Grand Hyatt Hotel
    Toy Fair week kicks off with the annual “Oscars” of the toy industry. TOTY 2014 will be like never before, featuring special surprise entertainment as members of the industry gather to celebrate the work of the Toy Industry Foundation; the 2014 TOTY award-winning toys; and the five industry icons who are being inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame. Reserve your tickets today.

    New TIA members and first-time Toy Fair exhibitors are invited to experience their inaugural TOTY evening at a special introductory rate of $299 (tickets are regularly $375).   • International Visitors Welcome Reception
    Sunday, February 16
    6 – 7:30 pm
    Jacob Javits Convention Center, Level 2 South Concourse

    TIA will host a cocktail reception to greet the many international buyers, exhibitors, media representatives and trade officials that each year flock to Toy Fair. All foreign visitors are invited to attend the complimentary reception.    

  • Wonder Women Awards
    Monday, February 17
    6 – 10 pm
    Pier Sixty – The Lighthouse at Chelsea Pier

    Women in Toys (WIT) will hold its 10th annual awards dinner to recognize and celebrate the remarkable female leaders and innovators in the world of toys, licensing and entertainment. Tickets may be purchased on the WIT website

  • Toy Industry Next Generation (TING) Happy Hour and Networking Party
    Monday, February 17
    6:30 – 8 pm

    Celsius at Bryant Park
    , a TIA-endorsed special interest group that supports the growth and retention of “young” toy professionals, is inviting industry members to network over casual cocktails. RSVP for the event. Admission is free for TIA members, $25 for non-members, and includes one drink ticket.
