Three Million Kids Served in 2013 – Toy Industry Foundation Annual Report Now Available
April 19, 2014 | The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), the philanthropic arm of the North American toy industry, has announced that its 2013 Annual Report is now available online.
The report shares that TIF and its supporters worked side-by-side last year to bring brand new toys and games to more than three million children in need, including those who are at-risk, impoverished, sick, in foster care, or living on a U.S. military base. Thanks to the collective efforts of the toy industry, the Foundation was able to reach 69% more kids than it served in 2012.
Nearly $19 million in toys were donated by 460 generous companies to The Toy Bank – TIF’s signature program – as well as to TIF’s national partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs of America Military Services and CASA for Children. The Foundation also granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to worthy children’s charities that strive to improve the lives of at-risk and disadvantaged youth.
“Thanks to our partners, members of the toy industry, hundreds of corporate and family donors, our dedicated volunteers, and our Board of Trustees, 2013 was an outstanding year for toy industry philanthropy,” said Jean Butler, TIF executive director. “We are grateful to all for coming together in support of our mission to bring the magic of play to children in need across the country and around the world.”
