TIF’s Annual Toy Industry Volunteer & Networking Event Announced for June 16th
March 15, 2016 | Registration is now open for the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) fourth annual Play Your Part LA volunteer event, in Compton, California. The volunteer event is set for June 16th and will provide a venue for industry professionals to positively impact deserving area children while also providing a chance to network. Attendees will have the opportunity to gift-wrap play packages and write personalized, encouraging letters that will reach more than 7,000 foster care children served by TIF’s national partner, CASA for Children.
For the first time in the event’s history, foster kids will be on-site and attendees will have the chance to deliver gifts directly.
“This year’s event will be bigger and better because volunteers can be stationed at special toy giveaway tables to distribute playthings in-person to hundreds of foster children. Volunteers will almost instantly see how their efforts bring smiles to children in foster care!” said Elizabeth Max, TIF Program Manager.
This event includes lunch and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at an area Smartbox warehouse to accommodate the anticipated increased crowd of eager volunteers. Toys will be donated via TIF’s Toy Bank, which receives new playthings from generous manufacturers and retailers year-round.
Corporate teams and individuals can register online to participate in this heart-warming event through May 27, 2016. Sponsorship commitments are needed by May 23rd. Toy donations can be accepted through June 10. For more information, contact TIF’s Elizabeth Max (646-520-4851).
