Reminder: Register for TIA’s Webinar “Taking Counterfeits Offline”
October 27, 2016 | Toy Industry Association (TIA) members and other stakeholders still have time to register for the upcoming webinar, “Taking Counterfeits Offline: Exploring Technology Options for Toy Companies,” taking place on Thursday, November 3 at 2 p.m. (Eastern).
The one-hour session will provide information on brand protection tools and will demonstrate a new tool that facilitates the monitoring and takedown of counterfeit goods in the marketplace, whether via online auction sites, e-retail platforms or social media.
The webinar is recommended for brand owners, intellectual property legal professionals, general counsel, brand protection managers, risk managers, and quality control managers.
“With the rise of global online shopping sites, toy companies and brand owners want to ensure that their goods are not being illegally copied and sold – and unknowingly bought by consumers,” said Rebecca Mond, TIA’s senior director of federal government affairs and webinar moderator. “After participating in this session, our hope is that attendees will better understand how to effectively use brand protection tools to counter offenders and secure their online brands.”
As an example, this presentation will demonstrate the “Watchdog” platform and how it intelligently monitors sites, provides trend information for counterfeit products and allows for near-immediate takedown enforcement, among other features.
Presenters include Philip Viggiani (certified risk management professional and managing partner at IP Risk Control, the company that created Watchdog); Ben Buckles (senior analyst at Comsec UK and the Watchdog Platform); and Christine Simpson (Christine Simpson Consulting, specializing in consumer product safety and liability).
Registration for the webinar is free for TIA members and $49 for non-members. A recording of the webinar will be made available on the TIA website in the weeks following the session for those who are unable to participate live.
