Spin Master Acquiring Sago Mini and Toca Boca

April 22, 2016 | Spin Master Corp. announced plans to further expand into the mobile gaming world with its acquisition of Toca Boca and Sago Mini companies from the Bonnier Group of Sweden for an undisclosed amount.

Spin Master hosts apps for Paw Patrol and its Zoomer animal line, among others, and plans to add creative and development resources in Sweden, the U.S. and Canada with the purchase. Its mobile portfolio will grow with the 32 apps from Toca Boca which is a play studio that makes digital toys for kids aged 3-9. Sago Mini has 16 mobile apps that focus on pre-school children, and recently began producing physical toys and products based on its characters. Both emphasize children's natural sense of curiosity, experimentation and self-expression and combined have more than 15 million monthly active users globally.

“The acquisition of Toca Boca and Sago Mini, with their strong brand presence, allows Spin Master to develop a leadership position in the mobile app space for kids and rounds out our ability to entertain kids in both the physical and digital world,” said Ronnen Harary, co-chief executive officer of Spin Master.
