TIF’s Summer Toy Drive Aims to Reach 200,000 Kids in Need

August 4, 2016 | Help bring wonderful summertime memories to children in need by participating in the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) biggest toy collection of the year – the 2016 Summer Toy Drive – open now through Labor Day weekend.

Since kicking off early this summer, the drive has collected $1 million in brand-new toys for 65,000 children in need, including those who are sick, suffering, in foster care, living on U.S. military bases or experiencing other hardships.

“Our goal is to triple our impact by the end of the season, bringing toys to 200,000 kids from coast-to-coast,” said Elizabeth Max, TIF program manager. “The Toy Bank will accept excess inventory and no donation is too large or too small. We’re counting on the entire industry to help us get toys to kids who really need a reason to smile!”

Toy manufacturers, retailers, distributors and importers may donate arts & crafts, plush, outdoor toys, musical toys, board games, books, DVDs and other toy and youth entertainment items. Simply complete the product donation form and send it to Elizabeth Max (emax@toyindustryfoundation.org). The Foundation can coordinate free pick-ups in many cases.

TIF recognizes all donors on the TIF website and through social media. Donors also receive a supporter badge to place on their own website.
