Don’t Forget to Donate Toys & Games at the Close of Toy Fair

February 20, 2017 | Exhibiting companies at the 114th North American International Toy Fair are encouraged to donate their toys and games to the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) largest toy drive of the year. The collection will take place immediately following the close of the show (February 21).

"We’re counting on the industry to come together to bring smiles and laughter to boys and girls of all ages in need,” said Elizabeth Max, TIF’s program manager. “ As the official charity of Toy Fair, we will be collecting all kinds of toys and games for children, including puzzles, plush, arts and crafts, dolls, action figures, and every other type of plaything from exhibitor booths.”

The donated toys will be sent to children’s charities including TIF’s national partner, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), and several charities in the New York tri-state area serving kids who are impoverished, neglected, sick, or otherwise in need.

To make it as easy as possible for companies donating product, at precisely 4:01 p.m. on Tuesday, Toy Bank volunteers wearing bright orange t-shirts will come around to exhibitor booths to collect the donated toys and games. Companies are encouraged to submit their product donation forms at the TIF booth (Booth 5701) prior to the collection.

At Toy Fair ’16, the Foundation collected more than 50,000 donated toys and games, valued at more than half a million dollars.

“This year the Toy Bank is hoping to collect 60,000 skill-building playthings for even more kids in need,” Max said. “Help us surpass our goal to make this the most successful Toy Fair collection ever!”
