Keep the Momentum Going: Donate Now to TIF’s Summer Toy Drive

August 22, 2017 | As summer draws to a close, the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) is hoping to keep the momentum going on its successful Summer Toy Drive by appealing to the hearts of toymakers.

The Foundation is looking to bring play to even more children with sizeable donations from companies that may have excess inventory. From now through Labor Day, TIF’s Toy Bank is still accepting brand-new toys and games of all kinds, including action figures, arts and crafts, dolls, plush, puzzles, and outdoor toys.

Summer Toy Drive donors will bring the magic of play to thousands of disadvantaged children, including those who are sick, in foster care, living on U.S. military bases, or facing other hardships. Since the beginning of summer, generous companies have already provided more than $2 million in toys for more than 125,000 children – surpassing donations received during the drive at this time last year.

“This is a critical toy collection for children facing adversity. Every child deserves to experience the joy and comfort that toys and play bring all year round, not just during the holiday season,” says Elizabeth Max, senior foundation manager at TIF. “The generosity of our partners has been truly amazing this summer and we are ever so thankful, but we need more toy companies to help us give back to those who need us most.”

TIF’s Summer Toy Drive is in conjunction with its #ToyBank25 campaign, through which the Foundation aims to cumulatively serve 25 million children by the end of the year.
