TIF Collects Record-Breaking Toy Donations at Fall Toy Preview

October 24, 2017 | Hundreds of children affected by Hurricane Harvey, as well as those fighting poverty, abuse, neglect, illness, and other forms of adversity, will soon have new toys and games to play with thanks to the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) record-breaking collection at Fall Toy Preview earlier this month. More than 100 exhibiting toy companies donated over 15,000 playthings – worth nearly $250,000 – to TIF’s Toy Bank, representing the highest value of toys ever collected at Fall Toy Preview.

At the close of the show, volunteers swept the aisles of the Dallas Market Center to collect games, puzzles, dolls, action figures, outdoor toys, and other playthings from kind-hearted exhibitors. World Vision, TIF’s collection partner, will deliver the items to several carefully-vetted children’s charities, including those in the Dallas and Houston metro areas.

“We are so thrilled about this fabulous turnout of toys and owe it all to the generosity of exhibitors who opened their hearts to help so many children in need,” says Elizabeth Max, TIF’s senior foundation manager. “This year’s collection was especially important, given the millions of families displaced by Hurricane Harvey who will benefit from these amazing toys and games.”
