Global Market Research on France and Germany Now Available for Toy Association Members

February 26, 2018 | The Toy Association is continuing to grow its repertoire of global market research with two new research reports examining opportunities for toy companies within France and Germany. The in-depth research is available free to members on The Toy Association’s website, located under the Research & Data section.

Two customized reports on each country were created by market and consumer experts. The research analyzes country-specific business environments, demographics, industry trends, safety requirements, and consumer and child behavior to help companies best position their product lines in each market.

Topline findings from the reports were presented at the 115th North American International Toy Fair, which took place February 17 to 20 in New York City.

Anne McConnell, The Toy Association’s senior director of market research & data strategy, presented market reports on France and Germany, including economic indicators, population, the local toy industry, and overall opportunities for expansion in the region.

Philippe Guinaudeau, CEO of Kidz Global, shared consumer behavior research from each country in two separate reports during his presentations. Each report analyzed consumer behavior, including kids’ daily routines, play habits, and their use of digital media, as well as popular entertainment brands among kids and their favorite super heroes. Guinaudeau’s Toy Fair presentations are available on the Association’s website. The full reports – sectioned by chapter, including kids time/daily routines; kids and digital; brand trends; favorite super heroes; pocket money; and collections – will be available in the coming weeks.

“The research helps toy companies determine whether expansion into these markets makes sense for their products,” McConnell said.  “Germany’s business landscape offers a strong launch pad for U.S. companies considering international expansion – its business and consumer confidence is high. France has one of the fastest growing populations in Europe, with 18 percent of its population made up of children 14 and under.”
