REMINDER: Donate Your Toys & Games to Kids in Need at the End of Toy Fair
February 16, 2018 | Toy Fair exhibitors can help kids in need by donating their toys and games to The Toy Foundation’s (TTF) toy drive at the close of the show. The collection will take place on Tuesday, February 20, and is TTF’s largest toy drive of the year.
Playthings of every kind are needed for this important initiative, including puzzles, plush, arts and crafts, dolls, action figures, and every other type of toy and game.
“All children deserve to experience the magical gift of play,” says Elizabeth Max, TTF’s senior foundation manager. “Through the generous donations of toy companies, we can bring joy and laughter to kids who need it most. We encourage all exhibitors, even if they have never donated before, to help us make this year’s collection the most successful yet.”
Kids around the country will receive the donated toys through several children’s charities, including TTF’s national partner, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), and others in the New York tri-state area serving kids who are impoverished, neglected, sick, or otherwise in need. Last year, the Foundation collected more than 50,000 donated toys and games from hundreds of toy companies exhibiting at the show.
To make it as easy as possible for companies, volunteers wearing bright orange Toy Bank t-shirts will come around to exhibitors’ booths to collect toys on Tuesday at 4:01 p.m. Exhibitors are encouraged to submit their product donation forms prior to the collection by emailing Elizabeth Max. The form can also be dropped off at TTF’s booth (#5701) anytime during Toy Fair.
