Hasbro Launches Toy Recycling Pilot Program with TerraCycle
Hasbro has launched a new toy and game recycling pilot program with TerraCycle, a global leader in product recycling. During the pilot program, consumers can collect and send their well-loved Hasbro toys and games to TerraCycle, who will recycle them into materials that can be used in the construction of play spaces, flower pots, park benches, and other innovative uses. The pilot program is open to all Hasbro toys and games, including face-to-face games, plastic and electronic toys, action figures, dolls, plush, and more.

Learning Resources Partners with DonorsChoose.org to Equip Classrooms with Coding Robots
In celebration of National Robotics Week (April 7 to 15), Learning Resources partnered with DonorsChoose.org, a platform that makes it easy for anyone to help a U.S. public school in need, to equip classrooms across the country with coding robots. Learning Resources matched donations up to  $100,000.

Mattel Partners with Salvation Army to Deliver Play kits to Children in Puerto Rico
During the Christmas season, Mattel partnered with the Salvation Army to deliver 3,000 play kits to kids in Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria last fall. Kits were created for various age ranges that included a variety of some of Mattel’s popular products including Barbie Fashionista Dolls, Hot Wheels diecast cars, Thomas & Friends Engines, decks of UNO and more. The kits were distributed on Three Kings Day, a popular gifting holiday in the region that takes place in January.

Radio Flyer to Celebrate Acts of Kindness in Honor of National Little Red Wagon Day
Radio Flyer launched an initiative celebrating acts of kindness in honor of National Little Red Wagon Day on March 28. Fans were encouraged to share stories about their charitable acts. One winner – to be announced on April 25 – will receive a donation of 100 wagons to the organization of their choice. Radio Flyer is dedicated to giving back to the community and helping those in need.

Spin Master and Ty Deliver Toys to 40,000 Children in Iraq
Spin Master, in partnership with international children’s charity Save The Children, and with support from Ty, delivered more than 91,000 toys and games to children in Iraq this past February through its global initiative, The Toy Movement. Distributed toys included: Etch A Sketch, Hatchimals CollEGGtibles, Ty Beanie Boos, and wooden chess sets. more than 40,000 children in 10 refugee and internally displaced persons camps in Northern Iraq received the toys. The Toy Movement has completed missions in Mexico, Israel, Jordan, Turkey, South Africa, and Nicaragua, among other countries.

TCG Donates Portion of Puzzle Profits to Autism Awareness and Research
TCG is donating 1 percent of net sales on more than 80 of its puzzle products to Autism Speaks and Autism Speaks Canada, which help raise awareness and funds for autism research. TCG, which began the program in 2016, also created an Autism Speaks page on its website, which includes more information about the company’s commitment to the charity as well as further details and stats about autism spectrum disorder.
