The rankings were announced at the Gold 100 Awards & Summit held September 25 to 27 at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, CA.

The 2018 show was the 34th largest industry trade show in North America, based on net square footage of paid exhibit space. Toy Fair New York, the largest toy and youth entertainment product marketplace in the Western Hemisphere, moved up a spot from its 35th place ranking on the 2017 list. Toy Fair has climbed 30 spots since its debut on the Gold 100 list in 2008, when it came in 64th place.

"As Toy Fair continues to grow in size and scope it remains an invaluable meeting place for global toy professionals who are passionate about the latest and greatest in toys, play, and youth entertainment,” said Marian Bossard, The Toy Association’s executive vice president of global market events. “We are thrilled that the show continues to be recognized as we prepare to make some exciting announcements on what’s coming down the Toy Fair pipeline!"

Applications for new and returning exhibitors for Toy Fair 2020 have sold out and waitlist applications are now being accepted. The marketplace will be held Saturday, February 22 through Tuesday, February 25, and is expected to draw mass, mid-tier, and specialty retail buyers, licensors and entertainment executives, inventors and designers, and other industry professionals from 100 countries to explore hundreds of thousands of playthings from innovative global toymakers.
