Participate in The Toy Association’s 2019 Toy Industry Financial & Operating Benchmark Study

May 20, 2019 | The Toy Association has retained Industry Insights, Inc. to complete the confidential 2019 Toy Industry Financial & Operating Benchmark Study for member toy companies. Once the study is ready, participating members will have free access to the results and will learn how their financial metrics compare to other companies of similar size, category, and distribution channel. Members will also have access to trend data from earlier reports completed in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

“The financial benchmark survey is an extremely valuable tool for members involved in the manufacture, importing, and distribution of toys to see how they stack up against their peers,” said Anne McConnell, The Toy Association’s senior director of market research & data strategy. “The data will assist them in making sound business decisions – especially in today’s competitive toy market. We encourage eligible companies to participate.”

Participation in the study is free. (View the benefits of participating.) The questionnaire can be completed securely online or via hard copy (mailed to members this week). The online survey has a “save and return” function that will allow participants to save responses and return to complete or to make changes to their responses. Members are asked to submit their responses to the survey by June 28, 2019.

All responses will be returned directly to Industry Insights, where they will be kept in strict confidence. (View the confidentiality agreement.) The Toy Association will receive total industry and aggregated data only. 

Participants will receive a confidential complimentary report of their company’s information – which includes “grades” on key operating ratios and industry totals aggregated by key segments.  Only those companies who submit responses will be able to compare their own financial information alongside the data.

Toy Association members who do not participate in the study may purchase the aggregated results for $1,500. The survey will not be available for purchase by non-members.
