Help Your Favorite Toy Take Home a TOTY

November 3, 2020 | Today might mark Election Day in the U.S., but in the toy industry a whole different kind of election season got underway last Thursday as the 2021 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards finalists were revealed by The Toy Association.

Voting is now open to the public, retailers, media, and Toy Association members, who are casting their votes to determine which toys, games, and properties across 16 categories will take home TOTYs in February. One product will also be crowned the “People’s Choice” award winner, based solely on consumer votes cast at www.toyawards.org, and one will win the coveted overall “Toy of the Year” award, selected by an expert panel of industry representatives. Voting will close on January 5, 2021.

Winners will be honored during a virtual TOTY Awards ceremony that will be livestreamed on February 12, 2021. Known as the "Oscars" of the toy industry, the awards program will also include the induction of four industry trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame. The TOTY event is a critical fundraiser for The Toy Foundation, which delivers the magic of play to millions of children in vulnerable situations through industry-wide toy donations and cash contributions. Tickets for the ceremony can be reserved as of December 1.

The 2021 TOTYs will mark the first time ever that toy fans around the world will be invited to tune in alongside industry insiders and watch the ceremony unfold. In the meantime, fans can also visit @GeniusofPlay on Facebook to enter for a chance to win tons of amazing TOTY prize packages.
