webinar-graphicJune 15, 2020 | Toy professionals are invited to save the date for The Toy Association webinar, “The Role of Diversity & Inclusion in Toys & Content,” on July 9 at 2 p.m. (Eastern). Registration is now open.

The one-hour session will discuss different diversity and inclusion (D&I) issues that can arise in toy and content development and how companies can integrate best D&I practices. Examples will provide context to the successes and challenges that coincide with these efforts. The webinar will also examine the impact of toys and content on children’s world views as well as the impact of historic events, like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, on toy and content development.

The discussion will be led by Jay Francis, vice president of current series and diversity & inclusion at Disney Television Animation and member of The Toy Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and Chiraag Shah, director of D&I at Mattel. It will be moderated by Mitch Brown, a senior consultant and master facilitator at the Kaleidoscope Group, a full-service D&I consulting firm. Adrienne Appell, senior director of strategic communications at The Toy Association, will deliver opening remarks.

All toy professionals, especially those involved in product and content development, are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Anne McConnell, senior director of market research & data strategy at The Toy Association.
