Participate in The Toy Association’s 2020 Toy Industry Financial & Operating Benchmark Study

March 24, 2020 | The Toy Association has partnered with Industry Insights, Inc. to conduct a confidential 2020 Toy Industry Financial & Operating Benchmark Study for member toy companies. Once complete, the results will be made available for free to participating companies to learn how their financial metrics compare to other companies of similar size, category, and distribution channel. Participation in the study is free; responses are due May 8.

“We know these are difficult times, but we truly believe that the financial information you will get by participating in this survey will be invaluable,” said Anne McConnell, The Toy Association’s senior director of market research & data strategy. “We invite companies to use this financial benchmark survey to understand how their business stacks up against the competition. Use the results to gain valuable, free insights to help make more informed decisions for your business in the future. We encourage all eligible companies to participate.”

The simplified survey can be filled out online or downloaded to be completed and mailed back. The online questionnaire has a “save and return” function that will allow participants to save responses and return to complete or to make changes to their responses. (View the benefits of participating.)

All responses will be returned directly to Industry Insights, where they will be kept in strict confidence. (View the confidentiality agreement.) The Toy Association will receive total industry and aggregated data only.

Participants will receive a confidential complimentary report of their company’s information – which includes “grades” on key operating ratios and industry totals aggregated by key segments. Only those companies who submit responses will be able to compare their own financial information alongside the data. Member companies will also have access to industry trend data from fiscal years 2011-2019. Toy Association members who do not participate in the study may purchase the aggregated results for $1,500. The survey will not be available for purchase by non-members.

Questions regarding survey specifics may be directed to Michael Becher, vice president of Industry Insights. All other questions may be directed to Anne McConnell.
