hall-of-fame-at-toty-2020August 3, 2020 | Toy Association members are invited to cast their votes for the 2021 inductees into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame. Voting opens today and closes Monday, August 31.

Ballots will be emailed to all eligible voters; to request a link to the ballot please email The Toy Association’s Akshata Hase.

The four living candidates for induction are:

  • Phillip Bloom, Founder and Former Publisher, The Bloom Report
  • William C. Killgallon, Chairman of the Board, The Ohio Art Company
  • Pleasant T. Rowland, Founder, American Girl, a division of Mattel
  • Bob Wann, Chief Play Monster, PlayMonster

Of the four candidates, a maximum of three nominees will be selected for induction. A new process is being developed to identify, profile, and elect posthumous members for induction. An announcement will be made soon. Established in 1984, the Toy Industry Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed upon individuals in the toy industry who have made outstanding contributions and/or provided impactful service to the industry and The Toy Association throughout their careers. Past inductees include Ruth Handler, Jim Henson, Stan Lee, George Lucas, and Joan Ganz Cooney, among others. The Association’s Hall of Fame Committee selected this year’s candidates from a slate of highly qualified nominees submitted for consideration.

The 2021 inductees will be announced later this year. The Toy Industry Hall of Fame induction will take place during the 2021 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards.

Eligible voters include designated points of contact for current members of The Toy Association; current members of The Toy Association Board and Toy Association Board members who have served in the previous five years; and former Hall of Fame inductees.
