April 11, 2021 | The Toy Association is alerting those in the toy and play community looking to get their products into Walmart stores of the retailer’s latest round of virtual pitch meetings.

Walmart’s eighth annual “Open Call” is now open and invites entrepreneurs to apply for the opportunity to meet with merchants on June 30, 2021. As part of its new commitment to spend an additional $350 billion on items made, grown, and/or assembled in the U.S., the retailer is specifically looking for products that fit this criteria – including toys and games. The application deadline is April 30.

“Open Call is special because it’s a chance for our merchants to meet with entrepreneurs of all sizes with one goal in mind: buy more products that are manufactured in the U.S.,” said Steve Ronchetto, vice president of Toys at Walmart. “This is a great way for toymakers to explore opportunities for their products to be sold on Walmart.com and in our stores.”

The June 30 virtual event will include a one-hour kickoff with Walmart executives, one-on-one pitch meetings with Walmart buyers, plus smaller breakout sessions throughout the day covering valuable topics and resources available to suppliers.
