Kidz Global: Pandemic Shopping Habits Continue to Result in Higher Holiday Toy Spending

March 10, 2022 | When shopping for gifts for the 2021 holiday season, traditional toys and games were the main category parents were willing to spend more on, because of the engagement they provided, according to new research from Kidz Global.

The new report, “Xmas Presents to Kids,” which provides companies with insights into the shopping habits of their core consumers during the holiday season, is free to Toy Association members and available online.

Looking at key U.S. consumer attitudes influencing holiday shopping, the report examines how kids’ wish lists and brand recognition impacted parents’ purchases in 2021. It also offers further data on shifting behaviors and attitudes toward holiday shopping; the types of presents requested based on a child’s age and gender; the types of gift givers; and the impact COVID-19 continued to have on 2021 holiday spending, specifically for toys.

This report is the latest in The Toy Association’s library which also includes additional reports from Kidz Global on brand trends and the “American Kid Consumer,” available to Toy Association members.
