Member Exclusive: NPD Report Details Consumer Attitudes About Toy Industry

January 14, 2022 | The NPD Group’s Consumer Attitudes & Beliefs about the Toy Industry report is now available exclusively to Toy Association members.

The report, which was repeated annually between 2016 and 2018 and resumed in 2021, serves as an industry benchmark of consumer perceptions of the toy industry. It addresses perceptions about toys’ and games’ impact on children, communities, and society; attitudes and beliefs about toy manufacturers; perceived value of play; toy industry descriptors; and sentiments toward toy industry philanthropy. It also looks at the impact of COVID-19 on shifting perceptions about toys and toy manufacturers.

“Toy Association members are invited to use these findings to improve their messaging to best appeal to consumers and to examine new potential areas of growth for their businesses,” said Anne McConnell, senior director of market research & data strategy at The Toy Association.
