The Toy Association Offers New Opportunity to Connect with Urban Outfitters (April 15 Deadline)

April 7, 2022 | Following two successful product preview events with Urban Outfitters that led to numerous connections, The Toy Association has announced a third virtual private preview with the retailer taking place May 19. The application deadline is Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. (Eastern).

Toy companies will have the opportunity to present their playthings to Urban Outfitters as part of The Toy Association’s ongoing series of virtual Private Previews.

“Connecting toymakers with Urban Outfitters for the third go-around once again emphasizes the growing importance of our Private Previews in serving both manufacturers and retailers,” said Kimberly Carcone, senior vice president of global market events at The Toy Association. “We invite toymakers to apply for the opportunity to get their foot in the door of Urban Outfitters’ experiential retail environments and reach a new audience of customers.”

Operating more than 200 stores across the U.S., Canada and Europe that offer a curated mix of apparel, accessories and home product assortments, Urban Outfitters buyers are specifically looking to meet with a diverse range of toymakers in the following categories: DIY, gift sets, impulse products, licensed products, outdoor, plush, sustainability, tech, toys for kidults (ages 16-24), and more. This is an open call for any toy company not currently selling to Urban Outfitters. Sellers who previously applied for the retailer’s 2020 and 2021 private previews but are not currently selling to the retailer may re-apply for consideration.

The Toy Association’s Private Previews help create a path for talented toy companies to present their unique products to influential retail buyers. To date, participating retailers have included Aldi, Amazon, Claire's, Family Dollar, Indigo, Macy's, Meier, Office Depot, QXH, Spencer's, Target, Toys R Us Canada, and Urban Outfitters.
