Toy Association Offers Free On-Demand Webinar to Help Companies Ensure Websites Comply with Americans with Disabilities Act

July 20, 2022 | The Toy Association is reminding members to review and assess their websites and mobile apps to ensure they are digitally accessible and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA requires all public places be accessible to disabled people, and several courts have ruled this also applies to websites, mobile apps, and other digital media.

“As the ADA, as well as similar state laws such as those in California and New York, have opened companies up to legal action, we urge our members to take advantage of our free resources,” said Bernadette Boyle, senior director of member services at The Toy Association. “Doing so will not only help companies comply with the law but will also help them reach new audiences, increase their search presence, and offer users a better overall experience.”

Businesses are encouraged to take advantage of The Toy Association webinar, “Ensure Your Website is Digitally Accessible and ADA Compliant,” which is now available on-demand. The webinar offers guidance on what puts companies at risk for these lawsuits, tools to test for accessibility, information on how to remove digital barriers, and strategies to maintain accessibility.
