TIA Member Update: What the Toy Industry Needs to Know About Online Privacy
The webinar provides TIA members (and their external digital support teams) with an update on current and emerging legislation and regulations that are designed to protect children’s privacy online, with a specific focus on how these affect the toy industry.
Participants are introduced to the April 2014 second edition updates of the TIA Members Only privacy documents: Dos and Don’ts For Compliance with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and the Checklist for Mobile Apps and Promotions.
Open to all toy industry stakeholders: especially recommended for those who manage or develop toy-based mobile apps and child-directed sections of corporate websites. Toy marketing, advertising and digital team members (in-house or agency) are encouraged to attend.

The Checklist makes recommendations for TIA members to identify issues and possible solutions that will advise and protect companies who own or promote mobile apps as a part of, or accessory to, their physical products.

Ms. Millar has extensive experience counseling clients on regulatory compliance and public policy issues and represents TIA on advertising and privacy issues. She is a Vice Chair of the ICC Marketing and Advertising Commission, and chairs the Commission’s Working Group on Sustainability, where she spearheaded development of the ICC's Framework Guides on Environmental Marketing Claims. In addition to advertising and privacy matters, Ms. Millar advises clients on green claims, green chemistry, product safety and a wide variety of other regulatory and public policy matters.
