Port of Long Beach Transportation & Logistics Seminar
May 21, 2015 | Toy companies across the country faced significant costs and delays last year due to the congestion crisis at the West Coast ports. As congestion clears and toy companies look to the future of our ports, the Toy Industry Association invited participants to the Port of Long Beach for a day-long seminar to discuss key transportation and logistics considerations for the 2015 holiday shipping season.
Transportation and maritime experts from the Port of Long Beach dived into key factors that contributed to the congestion – from drawn out labor disputes to logistical inefficiencies at the ports – and provided an in-depth look at what toy companies can do to best prepare themselves for the upcoming 2015 holiday season and beyond.
Speakers included maritime trade consultants, port authorities, TIA staff, leadership from the Pacific Maritime Association and the International Longshore Warehouse Union and more.
