CPSC Acting Chair Encourages Continued Collaboration and Engagement with Toy Industry

Ann Marie Buerkle, acting chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), thanked the toy industry for ensuring that toys are both safe and fun for children and encouraged continued collaboration and engagement between the agency and industry stakeholders. Her comments were made during a pre-recorded video message during The Toy Association’s “Toy Safety & Compliance Update,” attended by manufacturers, retailers, toy inventors, testing labs, and other attendees of the 115th North American International Toy Fair.

 
The Toy Association Elects New Leadership at Annual General Meeting

At its Annual General Meeting open to all Toy Association member representatives held earlier today, The Toy Association announced the election of five new members to its Board of Directors for two-year terms expiring in February 2020. The meeting also saw the chairmanship gavel pass to Bob Wann, Chief Play Monster of PlayMonster, LLC, from retiring board chairman David Hargreaves of Hasbro, Inc. The meeting was held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center during the 115th North American International Toy Fair.

Collectible Toys Take Home Top Honors at 2018 Toy of The Year Awards Gala

The top playthings and most inspiring individuals from the toy industry were honored this evening at the 18th annual Toy of the Year Awards and Toy Industry Hall of Fame induction ceremony, with proceeds from the awards program and event supporting The Toy Foundation’s important work to bring millions of toys to millions of children in need.

 
REMINDER: Donate Your Toys & Games to Kids in Need at the End of Toy Fair
