TIA Promotes Toy Safety and Summertime Play in Recent Broadcast Segments

Association members interested in exposure are encouraged to contact TIA

July 21, 2016 | To help showcase toy safety as well as the benefits of toys and play, Toy Industry Association (TIA) safety and toy trend specialists recently appeared in broadcast segments in several markets including Chicago, IL; Baltimore, MD; Charlotte, NC; Hartford, CT; and Albany, NY.

Joan Lawrence, TIA’s Toy Safety Mom, offered tips to families for safe play this summer on WFLD Chicago, illustrating TIA and its members’ year-round commitment to safety. Lawrence also promoted TIA’s consumer safety website, PlaySafe.org, which features an array of toy and play safety tips for parents and caregivers.

Product segments led by the TIA trends team promoted some of the latest summer toys to hit the market and the many  benefits of play; a sampling of these segments can be viewed on YouTube: Outdoor Playthings (WBAL Baltimore) and Water Themed/Outdoor Toys (FOX 46 Charlotte). Members are encouraged to share the videos on their company Facebook pages.

“The TIA team works year-round to promote toy safety and the magic of toys and play and the many developmental benefits they offer through televised segments, interviews, news articles and guest blogs,” said TIA’s director of strategic communications, Adrienne Appell. “We have many opportunities to showcase members, and encourage them to continue to keep us informed of new products so we can share their messages with families across the country.”

Association members interested in exposure are encouraged to contact TIA for more information.
