Toy Industry Foundation Receives More Than 300,000 Toys from Tristar Products to Comfort Children in Need

Nearly $3 Million in Bandaloom Kits Donated to Benefit Impoverished and Underserved Kids in AZ, CA, ID, NV, OR, and PA.

New York, NY | April 18, 2017 – Children who are impoverished, underserved, ill, or facing other forms of adversity will receive brand new Bandaloom kits this year thanks to Tristar Products, Inc.’s generous donation of more than 300,000 kits to the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF).

Nearly $3 million dollars in Bandaloom looming kits – a fun, easy-to-use looming kit that allows kids to create their own unique jewelry – were donated to TIF’s Toy Bank.

“We are grateful to receive this extremely generous donation from our new donor, Tristar Products,” says Jean Butler, TIF executive director. “Thousands of children across the country will benefit from receiving a Bandaloom kit, making play possible for many who have no toys to call their own or who are suffering from adverse circumstances beyond their control. We appreciate Tristar Products’ generosity and look forward to building our partnership with them in the future.”

The kits are being delivered to 13 different children’s charities across six states – Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Pennsylvania – including: Shelter Partnership, World Vision , My Stuff Bags Foundation, Santa Claus of San Bernadino, Metro Kidz, and Heart of Compassion. These playthings will put smiles on the faces of children who are living through or recovering from extraordinarily difficult circumstances during their birthdays, holidays, special ceremonies, and other events throughout the year.

“Here at Tristar, we’re always looking for opportunities to give back in whatever ways we can to help communities in need,” says Keith Mirchandani, CEO and founder of Tristar Products. “When we heard about the tremendous efforts of the Toy Industry Foundation, we quickly put together a donation of our Bandaloom looming kits. Each kit includes everything you need to design your own custom-made jewelry. Kids have a great time creating their own designs.”

The Toy Bank is generously stocked by manufacturers, retailers, and distributors throughout the year, and makes play possible for families living in poverty, foster children, military families, kids undergoing medical treatments, children with special needs, and many others.  TIF collects millions of toys and distributes them to a network of more than 1,000 charities across the nation and around the globe. Visit www.TheToyBank.org to learn more.
