The Genius of Play “Personality of Play” Sweepstakes Draws More than 4,000 Unique Entrants

July 7, 2017 |The Genius of Play’s “Personality of Play” sweepstakes, which took place over a three-week period in June, garnered 4,319 unique entrants – the highest number for any Genius of Play sweepstakes to date.

Parents were asked to take a short quiz to determine their child’s “play personality”– from Play Dreamer and Action Star to Social Butterfly and Deep Thinker. All participants were entered for a chance to win five tickets to a children’s museum of their choice, plus $500 for travel expenses. The Association of Children’s Museums and its member museums helped promote the sweepstakes. The winning family hails from Georgia and will be visiting the Children’s Museum of Atlanta this summer.

“With 21,000 visits to the sweepstakes’ promotion page, almost 1,000 shares and likes on social media, and more than 4,000 entrants, this was by far our most successful sweepstakes,” says Anna Yudina, director of marketing initiatives at The Toy Association, the group that runs The Genius of Play initiative. “It was a fantastic opportunity to help parents discover more about their child’s unique play preferences, while underscoring that all children need a variety of play to build a variety of skills!”

Sweepstakes participants were also encouraged to visit TheGeniusofPlay.org to learn all about the benefits of play and discover fun play tips and ideas for their kids.
