Volunteer for TIF’s Inaugural ‘Play Your Part Boston’ Event in December

October 17, 2017 | Join the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) to make this holiday season truly memorable for hundreds of foster kids as it expands its popular “Play Your Part” volunteer event to Boston on December 7. Volunteer registration for the event is now open.

TIF is seeking volunteers to hand out toys and help run the Winter Wonderland-themed games and activities for the children. From making gingerbread houses to decorating snowflakes volunteers will help bring hope, comfort, and joy to a child’s holiday season by simply giving a few hours of their time.

Toy companies can also participate by: sponsoring a portion of the event, such as the volunteer t-shirts or DJ entertainment; hosting their very own game or activity station; or by donating product. All types of toys are needed, particularly board games and puzzles, dolls and plush, action figures, and other items appropriate for children ages five to 12.

“We are so excited to launch a Play Your Part event in Boston. What better way to celebrate the season than by giving back to those less fortunate,” says Elizabeth Max, TIF’s senior foundation manager. “While many kids are busy making their holiday wish lists, there are some kids who may not have any toys to call their own. Your kind and generous donation of time or product will allow these children to temporarily forget their worries and enjoy the magic of the holidays.”

TIF’s Play Your Part events, including those in Los Angeles and Chicago, are hosted in partnership with the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (CASA) for Children and bring toy industry professionals together to positively impact children in need.

Play Your Part Boston will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the famous Gillette Stadium – home to the New England Patriots – in Foxborough, MA. In addition to the fun activities, children will also be able to take home a very special brand-new toy.

Corporate teams and individuals looking to participate have until November 27 to sign up. The Foundation is asking that companies choose one team captain to gather and email volunteer names. Sponsorship commitments are needed by November 15, while toy donations will be accepted through November 29. To register or for more information, email TIF’s Elizabeth Max.
