Minneapolis Media Invited to Talk China Tariffs with Toy Company Leaders at Biz Conference

June 14, 2019 | As America’s  toy community convenes in Minneapolis for the Annual Business Conference, leaders from toy companies, allied businesses, and The Toy Association will be available on-site for media interviews detailing the potential impacts of the looming threat of tariffs on toys imported from China and other topical issues.

“‘Don’t tax toys!’ is the U.S. toy community’s message to President Trump,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association. “We and our member companies welcome the opportunity to brief reporters on how tariffs would permanently damage American and local Minnesota businesses – and ruin Christmas, birthdays, and other special occasions for kids.  Minnesota’s press and media are invited to meet with key industry spokespeople at our premier business conference.”

The Association has issued a media alert inviting members of the press to the Hilton Minneapolis, where the business conference is being held, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18 and 19. In addition to Pasierb, Bob Wann (Chief PlayMonster, Play Monster), Jay Foreman (CEO, Basic Fun!), Stephan Brissaud (COO, IELLO), Chris Tidwell (CEO, Magformers), and Michael Rinzler (Co-President & Founding Partner, Wicked Cool Toys) among others are available for interviews.

Toy professionals who would like to be added to the list for potential media interviews may contact Adrienne Appell, senior director of strategic communications (646.520.4863).
