'Tis The Season to Start Giving: Volunteer for Play Your Part Boston Nov. 19

October 29, 2019 | Join The Toy Foundation (TTF) in spreading holiday cheer to hundreds of children in need during the third annual “Play Your Part Boston” volunteer event on November 19. Volunteer registration for the event is now open.

TTF is looking for toy company volunteers to hand out toys and help kids get in the holiday spirit by leading games and activities.

Toy companies can also participate by: sponsoring a game or activity station or by donating product. All types of toys are needed, particularly action figures, craft kits, dolls, games, puzzles, sports toys, and more for children ages 5 to 12. These toys will be given to each child at the event and placed in stuffed gift bags which will later be distributed to families throughout the Boston area. Toys will serve these families for additional holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions to come.

"We are thrilled to return to Boston for another Play Your Part event," said Elizabeth Max, TTF’s senior foundation manager. "It gives our members the chance to directly impact local children in need and help them experience the magic of play this holiday season. Not all kids have the privilege of owning their own toys or feel they can count on Santa to deliver on their wish lists. Your generous donations of time and product will help ensure these children experience a little seasonal joy and temporarily leave their worries at the door."

Play Your Part Boston will be hosted in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester and held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at IBEW in Dorchester, MA. Corporate teams and individuals looking to participate can RSVP through November 15. The Foundation is asking that companies choose one team captain to gather and email volunteer names.
